We're gearing up for our round-the-world trip!!

Well, we've decided to take off for a year and go travelling around the world.
We don't have firm dates for every place that we are visiting, but here's the rough plan...
(We will definitely be in Florida for Thanksgiving and Germany for Christmas.)

20/July/2009: Sydney -> Honolulu
23/July/2009: Honolulu -> California
(a couple of weeks in L.A., San Diego, and Vegas)
4/Aug/2009: Las Vegas -> Mexico City
(make our way south, through Central and South America - Belize, Honduras, Costa Rica, Panama, Peru, Brazil, Bolivia, Paraguay, Chile, Argentina)
23/Nov/2009: Buenos Aires -> Orlando
(spend about a month in Florida, Virginia, and New York)
22/Dec/2009: Orlando -> Hamburg
(spend about a month in Germany, Sweden, Norway)

=> At the end of January, we'll start the second part of our trip.
We'll go to the islands in Thailand, Vietnam, Hong Kong, and China.
Then, we plan to spend a few months in Europe (Portugal, Spain, Russia, Eastern Europe)

=> Around the first of June, we're off to Africa!
We'll probably start in Nairobi, Kenya, and spend a few weeks climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro and doing a safari in the Serengeti before going to South Africa for the World Cup.

We'll probably return to Sydney in July 2010....exhausted and very poor! :)

The past few weeks have been full of preparations for the trip....vaccinations (a total of 12 shots for me!), selling stuff, and trying to pack. We've made some progress, but I feel like there's so much left to do. Today is our last day of work, so at least we'll have some more time now to get things together.

We told everyone at work about 6 weeks ago...They were all excited and happy for us! And all of our friends are jealous, of course! :)

The next few days are going to be filled with going away dinners and drinks....Should be a great last weekend in Sydney! We're definitely going to miss everyone, but we're really looking forward to starting our exciting adventure!
