Paul's Australia Holiday

Paul was just here visiting for a week. We kept him pretty busy, of course.....We saw a cricket match and took him to some nice restaurants. While I was a work, he went to explore the Blue Mountains and the Hunter Valley wineries. I took a day off work, and we went to a few of the northern beaches. Kai's brother was also visiting the last weekend Paul was here, and we all went to Bondi Beach on Saturday, and then to the Soundwave music festival on Sunday. We had a really great time together. It was so great to see him again, but it seemed like the time went by too quickly. Here are some photos of his trip....

The weekend before Paul arrived, Kai and I went to the Opera House to see The Magic Flute. They sang in German, but there were subtitles so I wasn't completely lost. :) After the opera, there were fireworks on the harbour. It was beautiful...such a nice night out!

This past weekend, we decided to have a quiet weekend with just the two of us....seems like a rare thing these days. :) We went to the beach, and then swimming at the pool in Luna Park. It's just under the Harbour Bridge, and the views are fantastic! Last night, I took Kai on a sunset sail, as a belated birthday present. It was just the two of us on the boat. We spent about 4 hours on the water. The weather was perfect, and we had a great time! We went swimming and had a nice dinner on the water....We even got to help sail the boat a bit! Afterwards, we went to the Ice Bar in Circular Quay (http://www.minus5experience.com/). They give you gloves, boots, and a thick jacket, and you go into the bar room that is always at a freezing -5 degrees Celsius! There are really nice ice sculptures, and everything (the bar, chairs, glasses) are made of ice!

Now we're getting ready for our next vistors...Deanna and Dave arrive on Friday....only 3 days away!!! We're really looking forward to having a great week with them!
